Just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for all your hard work. The staff was a joy to work with and you two were Absolute perfection! When I awoke this morning and walked into the kitchen to turn on the coffee I paused to remember that there were 50 plus people in my house last night. I could have had a torn up yard due to parking, still be looking for the coffee pot or cleaning floors, but thanks to you both I have nothing to show for having had this party here except pictures! Grateful on the Basin,

My partner Andrea and I were overjoyed to discover the Vegan Coqauvin last night. We’re both vegetarian and often struggle to find adequate options in Marquette. Our dinner last night was hands-down the best one we’ve had in town.

We’re really pleased with the other new menu additions, especially the California Cheese Plate, which we had last night as well.

I just want to thank you for an AMAZING meal last night! My partner Zac and I are both vegetarian, and moved to Marquette three years ago from Los Angeles when he joined the faculty at NMU. In LA, we had more vegetarian choices than we knew what to do with! But Marquette is a very different story. In any case, we’ve been coming to the Chophouse every couple of months since we moved to enjoy your salads, cheese, and amazing wine list, but last night, we were blown away by the vegan coq au vin. It was by far the best meal we have had in town since we moved here. Please keep expanding your veggie options! Obviously, you’re a chophouse, but you’re also the only fine dining in town, and we really appreciate having an option that is satisfying, delicious, and properly made. Thank you!

Dear Tom and Elizabeth,

Errol and I wanted to send you a note and thank you and your outstanding kitchen and wait staff so much for all the obvious hard work and effort that went into putting together your recent wine tasting dinner. Kudos also to Rick Lopus for the great wine. We thoroughly enjoyed every course and the perfectly selected wine that accompanied each one. What a wonderful overall experience!

We are so fortunate to have restaurateurs of your caliber in Marquette. Just when we think it isn’t possible to get any better, you surprise us with new menu items, even warmer ambiance, superior service taking us to the next level. That’s why we love eating at Elizabeth’s so very much.

We look forward to the next wine tasting dinner and all the interim meals. Best to both of you and your family, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. My husband and I were up in the UP a couple weeks ago for our bi-annual pilgramage to see the fall colors. My aunt mentioned oysters (which are not “in season” in Texas for another month or so). We did a Google search for Oyster Bars in Marquette and thank God, we found your restaurant!

My family and I (8 total) came in for dinner on Tuesday and you had 6 dozen oysters waiting at our table when we arrived–unbelievable service. We didn’t think it could get any better, but we were pleasantly surprised–everything that we ordered was magnificent, the best prime rib my husband and I have ever had anywhere!

Things were so good that four of us came back again on Thursday and had another couple dozen oysters, more prime rib, escargot, and some delicious micro-brews. We will definitely be back when we come back up north in a couple of years.

You have got a jewel there!

I had a group in town and we needed a dinner spot, originally we were going to go to Vierlings but saw your sign and decided to eat with you. Just wanted to say what a great meal we had and the service was excellent. Josh was our server. My only complaint (not really) was that your portions were too big. Most folks would find that a bonus.

My wife and I vacationed this year in the UP from Houghton/Copper Harbor over to Marquette. Our last evening there; we dined at your restaurant and wanted to let you know what a pleasure it was dining at the Chop House that evening. The food was well prepared, hot and service was great. We sat out on your porch which overlooked the lake which was nice to view when having our dinner. Overall an outstanding experience and job very well done!!

Hello Elizabeth,

Thank you very much! We, and our guests, had a great meal in a beautiful setting. The food was very good. The groom’s father ate his giant porterhouse with gusto and said it was excellent. The vegetarian freekah was also a hit. My mom has the rest of it at home and will be enjoying it for days. The wait staff was very attentive and responsive to each guest.

The wedding cake was perfect and exactly what my daughter had envisioned. It was also a very good tasting cake, which is not always the case with wedding cakes.

Jessica certainly did her job well as everything was the way we requested it to be.

The wedding meal at Elizabeth’s will always be one of the happy memories of their special day.

Dear Elizabeth and Tom,

We wanted to just send a few words to let you know how satisfied we were after spending an evening at your restaurant.

My wife and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary yesterday by going up to Marquette to have dinner at your establishment. One of our daughters had given us a gift card towards our evening and highly recommended your restaurant to us. We really like the Marquette area and have dined in several restaurants there but had never been to Elizabeth’s.

We were greeted immediately by a smile from the hostess who showed us to our table. We then met Brandon Ward who was our waiter. Let me say that he was probably the finest wait person that we have had the pleasure to be served by. He took great patience in guiding us to a wine selection as well as providing an abundance of menu information for us. He encouraged us to take our time as we explained that we wanted this to be an “experience” rather than just dinner.

We selected the Seafood Medley St. Jacques as an appetizer and enjoyed it thoroughly! My wife selected the Halibut on Rissoto Cakes and I the Beef Tournadoe with Fingerling Potatoes. What amazing dishes! They were just awesome. We then had a “trio” of desserts and French pressed coffee. Absolutely an amazing dining experience for us! We were even presented with a card wishing us a happy anniversary that was signed by your staff! What a nice touch!

My few words have turned into many but I wanted you to know just how happy we were to have had our “experience” at Elizabeth’s Chop House and we look forward to the day when we may return.

Many many thanks for the wonderful rehearsel dinner last Friday evening. Everything was perfect – the food and beverages were delicious and so beautifully served. Dear Elizabeth,

Yesterday my book group had our Christmas luncheon in the front room of Elizabeth’s and I want to tell you how much we all enjoyed our afternoon. The decorations were lovely, the table setting beautiful as always, and the two servers were attentive without being intrusive. At least one woman I know had not been to Elizabeth’s before(but had been to L’attitudes) and said she would return. We had corn chowder, crab cakes, the orange salad special, and the sliders. Everyone said the food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the privacy of the room and ability to talk without external noise.

Thank you very much for a lovely day! We will be back!

I simply can’t thank you, your husband and your staff for the PERFECT evening. The food (ok, my mouth just started watering again thinking about it!) was so tasty, delicious, awesome, tasted as great as it looked and it looked like something only in a magazine–wow would be the best word to describe it. I thought we had great restaurants just over the border in Land O’Lakes and Eagle River, WI– now I KNOW it’s worth traveling the distance to Marquette! Your staff could not have been more accommodating, efficient, or nicer. The area you set aside for us was ideal and also perfect. It allowed us such privacy and felt so cozy. And you, you made me feel special and pampered.

Every person who came expressed the same thoughts I am sending you. I can’t count the number of people that have asked me since I got back to the Bruce Crossing area, “How was it? Was it as good as you thought it would be?” I answer, “It was Perfect and better than I imagined.”.. and then I go into more detail than they probably want to how spectacular the setting was, how delicious and tender my steak and lobster was, how large the twice baked potato was, you name it!
